“Sensations in the body are ground zero, the place where we directly experience the entire play of life. ”
We all know that moving our bodies helps us thrive. We know it burns calories, it creates strength in our muscles etc etc. And yet so many of us have massive resistance to working out.
So what are your barriers?
Feeling like you don’t measure up? Rebellion against people telling you that you had to work out maybe?
Here’s the secret I learned: If we want to live fully alive, we MUST anchor ourselves into our bodies. Our bodies store emotions.
When we move our bodies a powerful channel opens up where we can access our buried emotions.
3 Ways to Reconnect to Moving Your Body:
1. Understand Your Motivation
What’s been your motivation for working out? Or what do you think the purpose is?
2. Identify Your Preference
What forms of exercise do I enjoy? Get to know your preferences.
3. Take Time to Reflect
How does it feel in the moment? Does it give you energy or stress you out? You can always change course if something doesn’t feel right.
Be gentle. THE ENTIRE PURPOSE is to intuitively listen to your body
“We do not truly know ourselves unless we can feel and interpret the physical sensations we need to register and act on these sensations to navigate safely through life. WHile numbing may make life tolerable, the price you pay is that you lose awareness of what is going on inside your body and, with that, the sense of being fully, sensually alive.”
