“The self you judge is not the real self; the self you love is the real you.”
-Robert Holden, Loveability.
There is so much hype going on right now about New Year’s Resolutions.
But what I’ve been hearing from my clients this week, friends and people online is there are feeling like they’ve already failed. It’s been 3 days y’all and we’ve already failed 2018.
There is an incredible amount of pressure to create New Year’s Resolutions. And everyone is talking about New Year, New You. That this is the year that you can look better and feel better.
Only 8% of people are actually successful with their new year’s resolutions. The majority of people give up just after a couple of weeks.
There is BIG BUSINESS behind the New Year.
January ends up being a HUGE consumer month for all things related to fitness and diets. They call is the 2nd Christmas because people are buying so much activewear and footwear.
And it’s job is to make sure that you know several things about yourself:
#1: You are flawed.
#2: You are not enough
#3: You are broken
#4: You need to be fixed
And what happens when we think this…. The shame starts to creep in BIG TIME.
We feel terrible about ourselves. We see all these pictures of happy people on social media setting goals. We see an influx of before and after pictures.. And we think..
OK. This will be me this year. I will not spend another year fat, ugly, broke etc.
No 2018 is MY YEAR!
And then we run to the computer and google search gym… best diet…. Etc.
Or if you don’t have the inclination to run to find the solution…
You spiral.
Hard and fast.
Feeling like everyone has a clear plan for their future.
That everyone has a jump start on you.
That you are already behind.
That you failed 2017. And you’ll probably fail 2018 again too.
BUT, January is just another month.
Today is just another day.
Just like every other day in the year.
I’m not saying that wanting to make changes is bad or wrong or you can’t desire for things to be better. However, we have to examine what’s driving our desperate acts to hurry up and make the resolution.
If we really want to see positive long lasting change for 2018, we need to approach it in a completely different way. Outside of the hype.
We have to 1st…
1. Understand your INTENTION for wanting to lose weight?
Then we need to…
2. DECIDE How do you want to FEEL instead?
Only from a place of safety, rest ,trust can you begin to release whatever you need to let go of and then try on something new.
3. MOVE TOWARDS MORE LOVE
The goal is to accept our bodies.
To see ourselves without the judgements.
And to LOVE them.
It is possible.
And lastly… the 4th way to create a better more confident, energetic, beautiful, loving 2018 is to ask
4. ASK YOURSELF: ARE THERE ANY LOVING THINGS I’D LIKE TO ADD INTO THIS NEW YEAR THAT WOULD HELP MAKE ME FEEL MORE ________ (YOUR FEELING.) CREATE A LIST OF THOSE THINGS.
So I hope you will join me in 2 weeks for my special webinar. Because it’s one thing to know that we need more love and acceptance in our lives…. But it’s something we don’t know HOW to do. And so I’ll share that with you. I’ll share my 6 steps to loving yourself more in 2018.
