We focus a lot of intuitive eating. But I don’t talk a lot about exercise. And there is a reason for that. It’s super triggering.
And when I am encouraging you to learn how to love and accept your bodies – if/when I mention exercise people go… WAIT I THOUGHT I COULD TRUST HER… she’s just like everyone else. Telling me to get my butt to the gym.
But hang with me….
I know exactly how that feels and I promise you I’m not betraying you.
I know how loaded it is.
People get stuck in 3 ways:
1. The word exercise
2. Feeling like you have to “START”
3. Viewing it as punishment
But we can shift this.
We can move our bodies for other reasons. For pleasure, for endurance, for strength
So here are my 3 HACKS TO EMBRACE MOVEMENT:
1. Ease in with Micro Movements
2. Try something completely different than you’re used to.
3. Ask yourself one daily question: “Body what do you need today?”
And so when you start tuning into your body to see how it feels, you’ll want to move because you ENJOY it and it feels good.
