(This video is recorded from a YouTube LIVE session)
Do you wake up in the morning and think, “Just get me through this day…”
Most people live a mundane life of just getting by. Surviving minute by minute. And repeating the same behaviors motivated from stress, overwhelm, lack and exhaustion.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to live the next 20 years of my life that way. Heck, I don’t want to live the next year of my life that way. Because to me that is not living, that is not thriving. That is surviving. And y’all, we were not meant to simply survive.
4 problems that keep us stuck in the mundane:
Problem #1: No clarity of vision
Most of us have no idea where we want to be in the next 2 years and haven’t decided how we want to feel. Everything is reactive. In order be inspired by your own life, you have to be headed somewhere. As Tony Robbins says, “Progress = Happiness” If we are not growing, we are dying. You want your vision of the future to be clear, and concrete. If you are going to be inspired by your own life, you have to know where you are headed.
PROBLEM #2: Not emotionally compelling
Your vision doesn’t engage your heart. If your future includes SHOULD, you aren’t going to be inspired by it. It’s not going to move you. YOUR VISION SHOULD MOVE YOU. You want it to stir your heart. You want to anticipate the rewards. The payoff. The pleasure. The joy. The peace. You want your future to be so bright, so beautiful, so appealing – that you would literally do anything to get there.
PROBLEM #3: Don’t believe it’s possible
Most people settle for a mundane life because they don’t believe they can have what they want. That it’s not possible. They don’t believe that they can do it. And they start focusing on all the reasons why it won’t happen. They stop before they even start because of the stories they are telling themselves about what is possible. But let me share this with you. The material for you to build your future, is not in your PAST. The material for you to build your future, is in your FUTURE. We have to dream. We have to imagine. We have to be brave enough to envision something that we’ve never had before. Our past cannot dictate our future.
PROBLEM #4: Not rehearsing it
Most of our brains go to our default worst case scenario. Only being able to see our future with anxiety, stress, worry, and overwhelm. That is the mental picture we are creating in our brains minute by minute, day after day. And so what happens, we live into that. Because it is all we are rehearsing. We are planning for it to happen by thinking about what we DON’T want. So this is where we have to start thinking about what we DO want. And rehearse that. Visualize how things can improve. A new picture. And it’s going to require that you use your imagination. And it’s going to require repetition until this new vision becomes your default.
So are you ready?
Are you ready to intentionally envision a future and life that inspires you? That leaves you waking up every morning excited to create your best life? Ready to show up, do the hard work, and commit to your best life because you know what’s possible? For every excuse you have, there is someone who has done it.
